This year I have decided to go H.A.M with the peppers. I have planted more varieties than usual, but trust there is a reason for this madness. My wife plans to make all sorts of goodies with the peppers; hot pepper relish, sweet pepper relish, and crushed pepper flakes. Here are the results from the planted seeds. I get peppers to germinate at an extremely high success rate. I make my seed starting mix and keep the humidity level at 100%. My seed starting mix consists of Coco Coir Peat moss and earthworm castings. I do not use heating mats. Since peppers can take up to 2 weeks to germinate, that much time with a heating mat underneath can cause the medium to dry out.
These peppers were seeded 1/26/18 and sprouted and moved underneath the lights on 2/6/18.
